Revival

Hello again, people! I know I shut this blog down in April, but I decided to bring it back since I missed you guys!
I've had a lot happen since the last time I posted. I auditioned for "Hairspray" and got the lead role, Tracy Turnblad! It was so much fun to perform again! We had a great cast and even sold out the second weekend of the show. I now have lots of new friends that are like my second family.

I also got to be in my first non-musical play, "Always a Bridesmaid". It's an all-female cast and it allowed me to work on my comedic timing. I was the youngest in the cast, but I learned so much from my fellow cast members!

I have also been invited to be a guest at ZipCon 2015. It's an anime convention in Akron, Ohio. I'm pretty excited about that!

I got a new job, the last one didn't allow me to dedicate time to this blog. But I have more time now so I can post!

I am going to be posting a review of the 1st 10 episodes of "Sailor Moon Crystal" here soon. Thank you for being faithful readers and making this a fun thing to do!
Love you all!

Top 4 Anime Shows to Watch for Valentine's Day - #1

Happy Valentine's Day, friends! Enjoy this day with the people you love and eat lots of candy!

And now let me present to you the #1 anime to watch on Valentine's Day.....(drum roll please).......
"Wedding Peach"!
Although I have only seen the first season, I gave "Wedding Peach" the #1 slot because this has to be the sappiest, love-centered animes I've ever seen. The main characters, Momoko, Yuri, and Hinagiku transform into the "love angels".

Momoko Hanasaki/ Wedding Peach
Momoko transforms into Wedding Peach who is the leader of the love angels. She and her 2 best friends fight against the devils trying to destroy love. As a normal girl, she has a crush on the captain of the soccer team, but there may be another guy who cares about her.

Yuri Tanima/Angel Lilly
Yuri transforms into Angel Lilly. Yuri is the more mature and poised one in the group. She has a crush on the same soccer captain as Momoko.

Hinagiku Tamano/Angel Daisy
Hinagiku transforms into Angel Daisy. She is the more sporty type out of the 3. She also has a crush on the soccer team captain.

With the help of Limone and Aphrodite the love angels have the power to drive the devils out of human hearts. Lord Pluie and Jamma-P are tough enemies but love always wins.

Season 1 of "Wedding Peach" gets a 7/10.

The Good:
-A solid magical girl anime.
-Good animation.
-Has a good plot.

The Bad:
-A little too cheesy with the battle elements.
-Was made a little too close to "Sailor Moon".

Enjoy the rest of this Valentine's Day! If you have the time, watch some "Wedding Peach"!

Top 4 Anime Shows to Watch for Valentine's Day - #2

Here we are at #2, "Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers)"! I have actually never watched the anime version of this, but I have seen the 1st season of the live action series and I loved it! The main characters have great chemistry with each other and the story has some good plot twists.

Tsukushi Makino
Tsukushi is the main character. She is the only poor person at her school. She stands up to the leader of the F4 group (the elite boys club at school) when he is being a bully to a friend of hers who falls down the stairs. The F4 group then declares war on Tsukushi and she retaliates by attacking their leader. The war ensues and romances blossom during that time.

Tsukasa Domyouji
Tsukasa is the leader of the F4 group. Tsukushi can't stand him, but he sees a little more in Tsukushi than just another victim for his little games.

Rui Hanazawa
Rui is the only member of the F4 group that Tsukushi likes since she has a crush on him. He is Tsukasa's best friend, but he is very quiet and keeps to himself.

Sojirou Nishikado
Sojirou is the playboy of the group. He's the most perverted one as well.

Akira Mimasaka
Akira is the most mature member of the F4 group. He is the kindest member and rarely loses his temper. Although, when he does, none of the other members want to be around for it.

I believe this anime deserves to be in the top 4 because it is one of the craziest love stories I have ever seen. Some of the stuff that happens, I don't think anyone could get away with. But in the end, love conquers all.
After I view the anime, I will put up a score/review for it!

So if you have the interest, make a date with the F4 group tomorrow and watch "Hana Yori Dango"!

Top 4 Anime Shows to Watch for Valentine's Day - #3

Alright, everyone! Coming in at number 3 is "Peach Girl"!
This series is about a love triangle. Very dramatic and heartbreaking. The manga was very addictive for me, I waited impatiently for the volumes to come out! The characters in this story are pretty deep and complex which makes it a very well executed anime series!

Momo Adachi
Momo is the main character of the story. She is a teen who is ashamed of her tan skin (cause in the story it's better to have pale skin). Momo is caught up in a life where she loves somebody, he loves her, somebody else likes her too, and her "best friend" just tries to ruin her life.

Sae Kashiwagi
Momo's "best friend" who in the beginning copies her then stabs her in the back when she starts spreading lies about Momo. Sae may be one of the most hated characters of all time in the anime world.

Kairi Okayasu
Kairi is the goofy kid in school. Momo gets very annoyed by him, but he is probably her greatest protector. He sees right through all of Sae's acts that she puts on, and knows the truth about Momo. He is always at her side. He is my favorite character!

Kazuya "Toji" Toujigamori
Toji has been Momo's crush since junior high. He is a very serious and kind person. He loves Momo a lot, but keeps falling into Sae's traps.

This is a perfect Valentine's anime cause it all surrounds the subject of love. It's a very long and dramatic anime series, but it tells a good story about a girl who just wants to be with the one she loves and live a normal life. The characters are some of the most well done I have seen in any anime. So, the writers get kudos for that.

Peach Girl gets an 8.5/10.

The Good:
-Great character development.
-Great love story.
-It stays interesting.

The Bad:
-It can get a little too dramatic at times.
-There are too many bad things that happen to one person, it's a little unreal.

So snuggle up with some chocolate, pizza, soda, and a comfy pillow and watch "Peach Girl" this Valentine's Day if you want to see a good drama!

Top 4 Anime Shows to watch for Valentine's Day - #4

Hi!!!! I am so pumped for Valentine's Day! Andy and I are going to make homemade tacos and watch "King Kong". Not exactly the pinnacle of romance, but it's us! :D These next few days I will name off a few anime series to watch to gear up for Valentine's.

Today's spotlight is on "Ouran High School Host Club"!
This anime is full of pretty anime boys and one girl. It would be a dream come true for any OHSHC fangirl to find herself amongst this group of characters!

Haruhi Fujioka
Haruhi is the main character. She is looking for some peace and quiet and accidently walks into the host club's music room. In an attempt to leave she breaks and expensive vase and is then in debt to the club. Since they mistake her for a boy, they make her join the club to earn money for the broken vase. She has to entertain female guests to make her wages.

Tamaki Suoh
Tamaki is the club president aka king. He is a bit of an air-head and has a secret crush on Haruhi.

Kyoyo Ootori
Kyoya is the Vice-President of the Host club. He does all the math and book keeping for the club. He's also the one to always remind Haruhi how much she still owes them.

Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachin
The identical twins who are always playing games with the others in the group. They also like to act like they're a little more than just brothers.

Mitsukini "Honey" Haninozuka
Honey is the cute one in the bunch. He is always carrying his stuffed rabbit, Usa, and he loves sweets!

Takashi "Mori" Morinozuka
Mori is the quiet and mysterious member. He is very protective of Honey.

I haven't fully watched this series, but I can say it's very much a romantic shoujo parody. All of the characters are pretty simple, not a whole lot to figure out. I can't give this series a fair score/review until I've viewed it in its entirety.

I think it deserves to be in the top 4 cause the whole show revolves around romance! So if you have a special someone or even if you don't; curling up in front of a TV or computer screen and watching OHSHC could be a fun thing to do this Friday!

New Sailor Moon Anime Wish List Top 10

With the upcoming new Sailor Moon anime, we have heard very little about what they are going to do with the design/story. We do know that it is set to release in July of this year and we also know it is not a redo, but a completely different work. Here are some things that I would like to see in the new anime.

1.Up to date fashions for the senshi's civilian forms.
I started watching Sailor Moon in 1998. So by then, the fashions were all a little "dated". I would like to see each character's personality shine in the way they dress.

2. More character development for the other girls rather than just Sailor Moon.
One thing I always praise the live-action show for is how much focus there was on EACH senshi, not just Usagi. I love Usagi, but I also love Minako, Makoto, and Ami. I would like to see more light shed on the other characters.

3.Sailor V
I don't know how they would put her in the story, but I think we would all like to see at least a flashback episode of Sailor V, the original senshi.

4. Less filler, more story.
I would like to see the story progress more, rather than just staying on one point in the story for so long. (Ex. Amazon Trio is awesome, but not a lot happens in the story til they are leaving)

5. Chibi Chibi's story from the manga. (Sailor Cosmos)
I would like to see the original Chibi Chibi origin story. I think they could do Sailor Cosmos beautifully.

6. Human Luna, Artemis, and Diana.
I would like to see them all 3 in their human forms, and a mention of planet Mau.

7.Sailor Quartet
  Enough said.

8. Sailor senshi (other than Sailor Moon) different outfits.
I know it probably won't happen, but I would like to see more of a change in the senshi's fukus when they "upgrade". In the original anime, there was not a very noticeable difference. I think they could at least end on their Eternal fukus.

9. Let some other couple besides Usagi and Mamoru have a love story.
I would be happy with more of a focus on Haruka and Michiru than they got the first time around. I have always wanted the other girls to find love. Fan-fiction can only get you so far. :)

10. Princess Senshi
I have cosplayed Princess Neptune, so naturally I am a fan of the princesses. I love the scene in the manga where they see their castles. I believe each one of them deserves a princess title on screen.

These are just a few things that I'm sure any Sailor Moon fan would like to see! I'm sure it's going to be great no matter which direction they go with it. What are some of your hopes for the new anime? Please Share!

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon

I figured it only made sense to start with my favorite series as my first review/rant! Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon is undoubtedly one of the most popular and well done anime in history and it is very close to my heart! I fell in love with the series back in 1998 when I was in 5th grade. Me and my neighbor/best friend Monica would watch it at her house every day when it aired on Toonami on Cartoon Network. My favorite senshi was Sailor Mercury at the time. I loved how smart she was and her shy personality was similar to mine, so I was naturally drawn to her. Monica and I would pretend to transform into Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury and would use sticks as our wands. I also remember being up all night watching the 3 Sailor Moon films on VHS. So, basically concluding that these are my best childhood memories. ( I owe it to Monica and Sailor Moon!)

My love for this series has not died out at all, only matured. I have now had the experience of providing the voice of Sailor Moon in English for 2 episodes of a series developed by an organization known as J-Paul District. (It was a lot of fun!) I have cosplayed Sailor Jupiter and Michiru (Sailor Neptune's civilian name). I have developed life long friendships with other fans of the series, and have expanded my knowledge of the Sailormoon universe.

Sailormoon has many different forms of being portrayed; the most famous being the anime which ran from March 7, 1992- February 8, 1997 in Japan and September 11,1995- November 16, 2000 in the U.S..
The series began with Usagi Tsukino (or Serena Tsukino in the English), a clumsy crybaby who gets bad grades in school, plays video games rather than studying, and eats a lot. She encounters a strange cat with a crescent moon mark on her forehead. The cat's name is Luna. Luna informs Usagi that she is a Champion of Justice sworn to fight the evil forces of the Dark Kingdom. Usagi's idol is Sailor V, another heroine, so she is excited about the idea, but not so much the actual task. Luna gives Usagi a magic compact and tells her to shout "Moon Prism Power Make-Up!". Usagi goes through a transformation and becomes Sailormoon.....the rest is pretty much history.
Along the way Usagi meets:
Mamoru Chiba (Darien Shields)/Tuxedo Mask/ Prince Endymion
                                    Ami Mizuno (Amy Mizuno)/Sailor Mercury
                                    Rei Hino (Raye Hino)/Sailor Mars
                                    Makoto Kino (Lita Kino)/Sailor Jupiter
                                    Artemis (the white cat)
Minako Aino (Mina Aino)/Sailor V/Sailor Venus
ChibiUsa Tsukino (Rini Tsukino)/Sailor ChibiMoon (Sailor MiniMoon)
                                    Setsuna Meioh (Trista Meioh)/Sailor Pluto
                                    Haruka Tenoh (Amara Tenoh)/Sailor Uranus
                                    Michiru Kaioh (Michelle Kaioh)/Sailor Neptune
Hotaru Tomoe (same name in English..wow!)/Sailor Saturn/Mistress Nine

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon is divided into 5 seasons all with different enemies and new powers

Sailormoon Classic: The Dark Kingdom lead by Queen Beryl
Gold Compact and Moon Stick (Sailormoon)
                                Transformation Pens (Sailor Senshi)
Sailormoon R: Black Moon Clan lead by Wiseman/Death Phantom
                         Pink Locket and Scepter (Sailormoon)
                       Star Wands (Sailor Senshi)
Sailormoon S: Death Busters lead by Dr. Tomoe
Cosmic Brooch and Moon Rod (Sailormoon)
Outer Senshi Wands (used only by Uranus, Neptune and Pluto)
Holy Grail (Sailormoon transforms into Super Sailormoon with this)
Sailormoon SuperS: Dead Moon Circus lead by Queen Nehelenia
                              Crisis Brooch and Kaleidescope (Sailormoon)
Crisis Brooch and Crystal Carillon (Sailor Chibimoon)
                           Super Wands (Sailor Senshi)
SailorStars: Sailor Galaxia
Eternal Brooch and Moon Tier (Sailormoon)

The 2nd most popular form of Sailormoon is the original manga written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi!
Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon inspired a live stage musical. There have been 13 different shows running from 1993- early 2005. Due to the recent 20th anniversary, they brought Sailormoon back to the stage for 2 weeks in September of 2013.
Sailormoon even had her own live action TV drama that aired from late 2003-2005. This is where the title switched from saying "Pretty Soldier" to "Pretty Guardian". The TV show is referred to as "PGSM".
So as you can see, there is a LOT of Sailormoon to cover. This was merely a quick glimpse of what it is. There is so much story and heart in this series. My husband has tried to just pop in on random episodes and gets completely lost. (And he reads really complex stories!) I think that every person should give Sailormoon a try. I don't say that about a lot of shows. This series has something that anyone can identify with. Everyone has their trials in life, but if you have the right friends and are equipped, you can conquer anything. I give Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon a perfect 10/10!!! If you are ever wanting to learn more about it, there is plenty on YouTube. There is also a HUGE fan community that will be glad to guide you through. We are called Moonies, and we are pretty hard-core, but a lot of fun! Three of the best places I can direct you is http://missdream.org, http://moonkitty.net, and http://www.sailormoon-obsession.com. Check them out and donate!

Well, now that I have exhausted you guys with my super long love rant! I shall say goodnight! Subscribe to get more updates on the awesome anime I watch!

Hugs and Kisses!
